American singer Courtney Love is said to be "infatuated" with Salman Rushdie after striking a blossoming friendship with him.



The 47-year-old American singer was pictured with the 64-year-old Indian-British novelist at a New York literary event, and were later seen �flirting heavily�.



"She finds him intellectually thrilling. She regularly quotes classic literature and is a huge fan of Salman�s work," the Mirror quoted a source close to the singer as saying.



"She is infatuated with Salman. He truly is her ideal chap.



"She is looking for love, while Salman�s an incorrigible flirt and willing to see how their friendship develops," the source added.
